15. - 17. 12. 2017 \/ Hnil\u010dík - Ráztoky 10 volunteer fieldworkers took part in the field event. Two meetings were held with local experts. We visited the mining museum in Hnil\u010dík. In the vicinity of the villages Hnil\u010dík and Nálepkovo we focused on the search for old mining works. Thanks to the recommendations and guidelines of local experts we identified together 20 open mines. We recorded a total of 29 hibernating individuals of 5 species of bats: Barbastell, Brown long-eared bat, Greater mouse-eared bat, Lesser Horseshoe bat and Serotine bat. <\/p>\r\n 8. - 11. 2. 2018 \/ Hnil\u010dík<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Voluntary weekend was attended by 11 voluntary fieldworkers. Meetings were organized with two local experts in the area of Hnil\u010dík and Gelnica Mining District. They took our project team on a field trip and got to know us about the sites with bats they know. Winter monitoring was also attended by a local authority - zoologist of State Nature Conservation. We identified together 33 open mines. We recorded a total of 672 hibernating individuals of 10 species of bats: Greater Horseshoe, Lesser Horseshoe, Greater mouse-eared bat, Bechstein´s bat, Geoffroy´s bat, Whiskered bat\/Brand´s bat, Mdau, Serotine bat, Barbastell and Brown long-eared bat. <\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n 26. 4. 2018 \/ Technical museum in Košice – photo vernissage<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Thanks to cooperation with local professional stakeholders we had a possibility to attend photo vernissage in Košice. The vernissage pointed to the history of mining in our project area Volovské mountains under survey and monitoring of bats during project implementation period. 7. – 10. 6. 2018 \/ Mlynky, Dobšiná<\/strong><\/p>\r\n We created a group of 15 voluntary fieldworkers. Another 2 local stakeholders attended the field activities and guided us in mining area Dobšiná. The evening mistnetting of bats on the stream with quiet surface showed high activity of nice spectrum of bat species and confirmed also succesfull reproduction of rare species Miniopterus schreibersii<\/em> in this area: Myotis daubentonii<\/em> Mad 3inds., Eptesicus serotinus<\/em> Mad 2inds., Miniopterus schreibersii<\/em> Fpreg 4inds., Myotis myotis<\/em> Mad 4inds., Eptesicus nilsonii<\/em> Mad 2inds. At least 10 old mines were detect as a potencial nursery or wintering underground site for bats. 11 volunteer fieldworkers took part in the field event. Another 4 local stakeholders attended the field activities and guided us in mining area Gelnica. Most frequent detected species in the old mines was Rhinolophus hipposideros <\/em>in this area. The old mines in Gelnica have strong potencial for bats to hibernate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
